Sad eyes

From my journal dated February 17, 2003:

Sad eyes

Jenna came home from work tonight and curled up beside me on the couch. With the blanket pulled up around her, all I could see was her eyes. And they are such sad eyes. So sad.

My precious girl is so sad, so unhappy – all because of the stupid, thoughtless, drunk actions of one person. Our lives will never be the same. There will forever be a shadow of sadness over us. If anyone takes the time to look closely, even though we may smile or laugh or act like we’re okay, we will always have sad eyes.

  1. 😦 this hit home. It hurt my heart to see Jenna’s sad eyes.

This is so true: ” If anyone takes the time to look closely, even though we may smile or laugh or act like we’re okay, we will always have sad eyes”
